1. The holder of the foreign licence has aquired said licence at a time when he had no residence in Germany.
If the licence holder has had a residence in Germany before, the time span inbetween must have been at least 6 months.

a school education in the country in question
2. The establishment of the holder's residence in Germany or leave the school, respectively,
happened not later than 3 years ago.
3.The holder of the foreign licence has successfully passed a theoretical and a practical examination..

Foreign licences will only be acknowleged in Germany if the above-mentioned requirements are met. Foreign licences which have not been transcribed are only valid up to 6 months after the establishment of the holder's residence in Germany. Driving licences from EU countries do not have to be transcribed.
